The cassava starch production process takes cassava roots as raw material to produce cassava starch that meets the market requirements. The whole cassava starch production process includes seven units: raw material transportation, cleaning and washing unit, cassava grinding unit, starch slurry separation unit, starch slurry desanding, concentration and refining unit, starch milk dewatering unit, starch drying unit and the final starch sieving and packing unit.
Here are the main cassava starch production process description:
Cassava starch production process
Unit One: raw material transportation, cleaning and washing
The fresh cassava roots piled up in the stockyard is collected through the ground, and transported by a belt conveyor to the cleaning and washing machine. In this cassava starch production process, the stone, weed, sand and other debris therein are initially removed by the collision and friction of the cleaning machine. Then the cassava enters the washing unit. After the two cleaning and washing process, the mixed sand and other debris on the surface of the cassava roots have been basically removed, and the washed cassava enters the grinding unit.
Unit Two: cassava grinding unit
The second unit is grinding which is the most important unit for cassava starch production process. The function of grinding is to destroy the structure of the cassava roots, so that the tiny starch granules can be grinded and separated from the cassava roots. With water as the medium, the cassava becomes starch slurry. With DOING high efficient rasper machine, the starch breaking rate can reach up to 95%, and then the starch slurry is pumped into a centrifuge sieve for separation process.

Unit Three: starch slurry separation unit
The third unit in cassava starch production process is used for separating fiber and starch slurry. The starch slurry is separated by a four-stage centrifuge sieve separator, and the separated cassava waste is transported to the slag yard. And then starch slurry enters fine fiber sieve to further separate fine fibers from starch. The refined starch milk has reached the finished product standard in terms of thickness, but there are organic and inorganic impurities such as protein, sand and cell sap which need to be processed in the next cassava starch production process.
Unit Four: starch slurry desanding, concentration and refining unit
The starch slurry is pumped into the desander through the sediment pump to remove inorganic impurities. This cassava starch production process mainly removes sand to improve the taste of cassava starch so that ensures high quality of final products. Then the starch slurry enters the first disc separator for concentration, and then enters the 12-stage hydrocyclone station for refining. For this process, Doing Company can customize the disc separator or full hydrocyclone station according to requirements. After the above process, the starch reaches the requirements of the finished product, and the following is the dehydration and drying section.
Cassava starch dewatering machine
Unit Five: starch milk dewatering unit
The dewatering unit is for decreasing the water content of starch milk in cassava starch production process. After being treated by the peeler centrifuge, the water content of the starch is reduced from 60% to 38-40%. The water of the peeler centrifuge (which contains about 1%~5% of starch) continues to be concentrated back to the disc separator, and the wet starch is sent to the drying machine by a screw conveyor.
Unit Six: Starch drying unit
Flash dryer is used in cassava starch production process to dry the wet material by using high speed hot air. It adopts the principle of instantaneous drying, the whole system is under negative pressure, no dust, energy saving. The water content of the starch after air drying is between 12-14%, reaching the standard of the finished product.
Unit Seven: starch sieving and packing unit
In order to ensure that the fineness of the finished product meets the standard, it is also necessary to pass the finished product inspection screen to prevent the starch from agglomerating during the drying process, thereby ensuring that the final product meets the standard. After that, the whole cassava starch production process has been finished. And then is the final packaging of the finished product, it can be packaged into 25Kq or 50Kg according to the requirements.
